Trypanosomiasis and Leishmaniasis Seminar 2010

The Trypanosomiasis and Leishmaniasis Seminar 2010 will be held at Cardiff on 30th March - 1st April 2010.

The biennual Trypanosomiasis and Leishmaniasis Seminar will take place in Cardiff over the period 30th March to April 1st 2010, with registration on Monday 29th March.
The programme for the Seminar is currently being drawn up (for more information see poster, linked below), it is envisaged that it will not differ greatly from the previous highly successful Seminar in Newcastle in 2008 and also draw on the Woods Hole Kinetoplastid Meeting in 2009. The Seminar organisers for 2010 will be Graham Coombs (graham.coombs@strath.ac.uk) and Karen Grant (k.grant1@lancaster.ac.uk). Please contact them with any suggestions for special sessions or any other aspect of the meeting.
The Seminar will run in parallel with the BSP Spring Meeting (see its web-page on this web-site) Registration and Abstract submission procedures are being shared with the Spring Meeting.

Accommodation
Delegates are requested to organise their own accommodation. The BSP has teamed up with an online company to offer a one-stop accommodation service. From CARDIFF airport, a bus link to Cardiff central station is the cheapest option but the quickest option is to take a taxi such as Flightlink: www.flightlinkwales.com
This company have offered a 10% fare discount to all BSP attendees. Costs for a single individual are £17.50 one way less the discount of £1.75. However, the price reduces if more than one delegate shares the trip. Contacting FlightLink and quoting promotional code BSP will obtain the discount and finalised fares will depend on how many are sharing the trip. Flight Link will contact the delegates direct to inform them of final fare and arrange payment. No return trip will exceed £31.50 (when the discount is applied).
From BRISTOL airport, the cheapest is option is to get a bus from the aiport to Temple Meads Railway station (i.e. Bristol central) and then catch a train to Cardiff.

BSP Autumn Symposium - Progress in Paediatric Parasitology
23rd September 2010
The BSP Autumn Symposium 2010 will be held on 23rd -24th September 2010 at Durham University's Queens Campus in Stockton on Tees. Run in conjunction with the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, we are stretching the programme over 2 days beginning after lunch on the 23rd and finishing after lunch on the 24th. This approach is being taken to allow people travelling from a distance to spend just one night away from home whilst being able to attend an evening social event. The talks will be given by invited speakers and we will also run a poster session.
BSP Spring Meeting 2011
12th - 14th April 2011
The next annual Spring meeting will take place at Nottingham University from Monday 11th April to Thursday 14th April 2011. Scientific sessions will take place in rooms in the university’s award-winning 330-acre University Park Campus, approximately 3 miles to the west of Nottingham city centre. The campus is widely regarded as one of the most attractive in the country, having won numerous awards for its architecture, landscaping and care for the environment.
