Various positions in molecular parasitology of tick borne diseases

8th June 2009

Several positions are available (BSc, MSc and PhD candidates will be considered) in the newly established Laboratory of Tick Genomics and Proteomics at the Institute of Parasitology, Biology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The laboratory is located in Ceske Budejovice, South Bohemia, Czech Republic and has received a Purkyne fellowship from the National Academy of Sciences. The main research interest is the molecular dissection of the mechanisms underlying tick blood feeding and pathogen transmission success with modern molecular biochemical and cellular techniques (please see bibliography below). Being located in the borders between Germany, Austria, and Czech Republic, the Institute of Parasitology offers an excellent scientific environment. For those interested and qualified, there will be opportunities for short visits in collaborating labs in Europe and the USA. Therefore good knowledge of English is certainly a plus.

All positions will be immediately available.

Applications including a CV and a list of potential referees should be sent in an electronic format to Dr. Michail Kotsyfakis,

Email:mich_kotsyfakis@yahoo.com
