Celebrating 50 years

8 November 2011
Celebrate with the BSP - 50 years
The British Society for Parasitology was formed in 1962 from the Parasitological Section of the Institute of Biology, to celebrate this our 50th year of operation we have commenced a number of improvements to the operation of the society.
Firstly we have created two new roles on council for young Parasitologists. It was felt that the Society needed to continue to support and develop Parasitology in the UK and the best people to help are those entering the profession today.
Many challenges face us not least those posed by the rapid development of technology, in response to our survey a number of changes have been planned by the Society to its technology platforms. We have now Facebook, Twitter and and Linked In, in place.
We have redesigned our website and have a number of additional changes in the pipeline. We are attempting to create a more vibrant environment for parasitologists to work in and will support this in what ever ways we can. Let us know what you think and how we can improve.
Finally we have focused on celebrating this by making our Spring Meeting bigger and better.
So why not join us at Strathcylde University in celebrating 50 years of the BSP.
