BSP Spring meeting Cardiff 2010

Information for participants who are presenting at the 2010 BSP Spring meeting in Cardiff:

Spring Meeting:  Invited speakers will have 30 minute slots, to include 4-5 minutes for questions.  Submitted talks will have 15 minute slots, to include 2-3 minutes for questions.  Session chairs will be keeping speakers strictly to time to allow delegates to move between sessions.

Trypanosomiasis and Leishmaniasis Seminar:  Most sessions will stick to the same timings as above with some exceptions.  If in doubt, check the programme online:  http://www.bsp.uk.net/docs/events/ev8/trypleish_2010_programme.pdf

Malaria Meeting:  Timings of talk will vary depending on the individual session.  If in doubt, contact Paul Horrocks:  p.d.horrocks@biol.keele.ac.uk

 

POSTER PRESENTATIONS:

All posters (for Spring, Malaria and Trypanosomiasis and Leishmaniasis meetings) should be A0, portrait.  Maximum size: 1 m (wide) x 2 m (high)

Case Notes on Radio 4

On Tuesday 23rd February, at 2100hrs, Radio 4 will broadcast its weekly Case Notes programme, on the subject of Parasites. Several BSP members will feature on the programme, so be sure to tune in and find out what they say!

Travel Information for BSP Spring and Malaria meeting

Details on travel to Cardiff can be obtained via the Cardiff University weblink:

From CARDIFF airport, a bus link to Cardiff central station is the cheapest option but the quickest option is to take a taxi such as Flightlink: www.flightlinkwales.com

This company have offered a 10% fare discount to all BSP attendees. Costs for a single individual are £17.50 one way less the discount of £1.75. However, the price reduces if more than one delegate shares the trip. Contacting FlightLink and quoting promotional code BSP will obtain the discount and finalised fares will depend on how many are sharing the trip. Flight Link will contact the delegates direct to inform them of final fare and arrange payment. No return trip will exceed £31.50 (when the discount is applied).
 
From BRISTOL airport, the cheapest is option is to get a bus from the aiport to Temple Meads Railway station (i.e. Bristol central) and then catch a train to Cardiff.
